Dear GLBPO Alumni:

On behalf of the Band Parents' Organization of the Governor Livingston High School Highlander Marching Band, I would like to invite you to attend our 37th annual Pageant of Champions at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 26th at Frey Field, next to the high school. The Highlanders will host this event, which promises to be more exciting and impressive than ever. Already we have several outstanding high school marching bands planning to compete in the Pageant with an exhibition performance by our outstanding Highlander Marching Band.

We can always use your assistance at our Pageant. If you are able to devote some time, want an opportunity to see the band perform, and reminisce with alumni and current band parents please call Melissa Sanchez at 908-208-3726 or email at melissa.sanchez66@gmail.com. No prior experience needed; on the job training will be provided. We thank you in advance for your volunteer time!

We also remind you of our website at www.highlanderband.org. Here you can preview our schedule, check on our scores and view past Highlander ACC performances from 1991 through 2007! It’s great fun to watch and we’re sure you will enjoy the highlights.

OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS!!

November 14th

Start your holiday shopping and help out the band at the same time!  Local artist and merchant, Linda Tribuna, has generously offered us 20% of all sales during an open house at her home studio Friday, November 14th from 7-9.  Come and shop for handbags, scarves, accessories, beautiful costume jewelry, pencil drawings, note cards and great GL novelties.  Bring a friend and enjoy refreshments while you shop.  Studio address is 27 Shadow Lane, Berkeley Heights.  For more info please call Melissa Sanchez at 908-208-3726.  We look forward to seeing you there.

 November 20th to the  23rd Candy/Coffee Sale

The GLBPO is sponsoring the annual Candy and Coffee Sale. As you know this is a major fund raising event for the Highlander Band. We are in need of volunteers to be drivers on routes in Berkeley Heights or Mountainside; runners of candy and coffee to keep the routes supplied, or just stay back at the ranch counting money or candy/coffee. For the past several years we have not been able to cover both towns 100%. The only complaints we’ve ever had is  from people who were disappointed that we did not ring their doorbell. Please consider volunteering for this important event. For further information please contact Linda Fedey  908-789-1594.

November 27th Thanksgiving Football Game  GL vs. New Providence at NP
